How To Be The Best Third Wheel By: Loridee De Villa

Revenge of the Third Wheels is now playing in theaters worldwide.

It has come to my attention that it is officially time for me to review this book, for the sheer number of times I have mentioned it here on Wings and Roses (tell your friends), as well as the fact that I, Teso, now have a personal stake in third wheeling. See, my friends have seen it fit to start coupling up (like jeez, guys, come on, all at once?) and I am still single, therefore this fits perfectly in my life. You hear that guys? You did this to me!

The Short Summary:

Lara Dela Cruz has just returned from her summer in the Philippines to a shock...her three best friends have boyfriends. Not just any boyfriends, oh no, because they decided to date her ex best friend/current nemesis' best friends...of course. Now that they have boyfries, Lara and her best friends' relationship goes awol since her friends ditch her for them, leaving her with James, the boy who used to be her other half. What's more is that it seems that James and Lara have to get along to fix their friends and their problems (but of course) and that Lara might actually...like James? How is this all possible? Find out more in Loridee De Villa's "How To Be the Best Third Wheel"

Who would like this book?

High schoolers who love romance and friendship. This book is sweet, so sweet it's like pure sugar, but somehow it's the perfect balance of fantastical (in other words, glorifying high school) and relatable, by making you feel the author on a spiritual level, which I think is the perfect match for someone who may not be into reading.

The (spoiler free) Teso Review

I loved this book so much that I have listed it on Teso Rambles lists not once but twice, (check related articles :). This book is a clean, fluffy read that screams high school. De Villa hits you really hard in the feels (so hard), but makes up for it by doing it well (so well). She encompasses all things high school, from the pressure to choose your entire life at such a young age, to friendship struggles, to occasionally the angry friend with a baseball bat in a way that makes you giggle the entire time. I loved this book and I think this book deserves to be rated so high it breaks my scale, because once again, I love this book. One of my favorites for sure. As a person who has recently experienced teenagedom, high school and third-wheeling, this book is painfully accurate. From gagging loudly when your friends pda in front of you to the dreaded beep test, I can say for sure this book is perfectly representative of my own life. Have I mentioned that I love it? I really love it.

Signing off for now!

Teso, out
