Fourth Wing by: Rebecca Yarros

I am the sky and the power of every storm that has ever been. I am infinite.

Teso, this book's been out since April, and people have been talking about it all over the internet! Why are you only reviewing it now? Well, the official reason is because the sequel comes out in less than a week, but the unofficial reason is that I needed time to read this book again and again. You'll see why.

Short Summary:

Violet Sorrengail should NOT be going to the Rider's Quadrant of the Basigath War College. She's trained her whole life to be a scribe, to take information and analyze it, not to fight people on dragonback or in a ring. But when your mom's the general who stopped a rebellion, you don't really have a choice but to listen, even if you aren't prepared to fight for your life. Violet's mother's position doesn't help much either, given that the children of the disgraced military officers who rebelled against her country will go to school with her for the next three years. Can Violet survive?

Who would like this book?

If you like dragons? Fantastic. This book has them. They are good dragons. You will like this book. People who like dystopias, fantasies, and dystopian fantasies. Also anyone who likes dragons. This book contains mature themes (graphic detail of death, major character injuries, fun stuff like that), as well as some *ahem* scenes, so maybe don't buy this book for someone else. Also, dragons. If you like dragons read this book. That is all.

Review

Ok. I get it. This book is full of troupes, Violet can be annoying, and the writing can be a little dicey in places, but boy...the plot line? Dang. When you're swept up in a literal storm of dragons and fighting, it doesn't matter all that much if the author uses periods too much. Also, I am biased, since some of the characters reminded me of my dogs so much it actually hurt. I was like "those are my doggies, right on that there page". Anyways, that aside, the book is hardcore carried by good side characters, great world building and a (somewhat predictable yet) wonderful storyline that left me want more. I loved it.

It has been my honor.

Sincerely,

Teso

Teso Rambles: Genres

I know everything I've ever written here screams "she does this about the romance ONLY" but I'm not always in it for the romance. Once in a while I like a good whack or two with a sword. Or a stick, o
